Do you know a student (between preschool and college age) who has been diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma?  Nominate him/her to be a Hero for LLS' School & Youth Programs!

They choose their level of involvement—speaking at schools, writing emails/letters to schools or simply being featured on the poster/Web site.  Blood cancers have no demographic boundaries.  We would love to have more diversity represented in our Heroes program (different ethnicities, ages and locations throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota), and Heroes can either be in treatment currently or cancer-free for many years.

Pennies for Patients & HOP for Leukemia & Lymphoma teach students empathy, compassion and the power of giving together.  One of the ways we make that real for students is by sharing inspirational stories and pictures from local student survivors.

This is a very rewarding partnership for both the Hero/family and individual students at local schools.
Click here for the 2011 Hero Form.  Simply fill out the form and mail it to LLS with at least two photos.  You can also email photos to Angie.Lundeen@LLS.orgAll completed applications received by August 1, 2010 will be accepted to serve as 2011 Heroes.
