Pennies for Patients® The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Pennies for Patients campaign incorporates service learning into a program that helps fight blood cancers.
How it Works: Students collect spare change for a three-week period, preferably during January, February or March - (schools may choose any month that works best). Funds are collected in honor of a local student survivor and current patients. Many schools incorporate learning activities, kickoff assemblies or classroom competitions to motivate and energize the school community. We'll Make this Easy: LLS can provide all the materials your school needs, including: a coordinator guide with step-by-step instructions, collection boxes for classrooms, posters, an educational video, and a letter for each student (K-8) to take home to their parents or guardian.. Every School is a Winner: By simply donating change and watching the coins add up, each student learns that even a small effort can make a real difference in the lives of others. Schools are also rewarded with various prizes, such as class parties, pennants and plaques. Register Today! Give your students the opportunity to experience the powerful feeling that comes from helping others. Complete our online registration form or contact us for more information.
