Through participation in the School & Youth Programs, students will be connected with patients battling blood cancer. By becoming familiar with the patients, the students will see firsthand the impact of their hard work.

Dominic's Story After having leg cramps, no energy and prolonged nose bleeds, Dominic was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was just 6 years old. After two months of bone marrow tests, a spinal tap, transfusions, injections into his leg muscles, radiation and chemo every week, Dominic's cancer was in remission. Dominic is now 9 in the 3rd grade and a very happy little boy. He's a fighter and he's not going to let cancer bring him down!

Jonte's Story When Jonte was just 3-½ years old, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After successfully going through a very tough regimen of treatment including chemotherapy, Jonte achieved remission! Today he is a happy and healthy little 6 year old boy who likes to sing, dance and play sports. While Jonte continues to visit his oncologist, his continued good health is certainly something to hit the high notes about!

Hailey's Story When Hailey was two years old, she began having leg pains that prevented her from walking. X-rays and blood tests determined that Hailey had a form of leukemia. She began chemotherapy, and after six rounds of treatment, Hailey's leukemia was in remission. After 6 months her leukemia returned, and she underwent three more rounds of chemo, total body radiation, a cranial radiation boost and a bone marrow transplant and achieved remission once again. Today, Hailey is 9 years old and going in to the 4th grade. Next year she is hoping to start gymnastics or dance. Hailey is one tough little girl.
