Pennies for Patients

Pennies for Patients is a service learning program that saves lives. Every winter, students across the country bring spare change to school and donate it in honor of local student Hereos who are blood cancer survivors.
In 2009, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) partnered with almost 800 schools in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota and raised $728,000! Click here to see last year's school donations as well as photos from the top five schools.
Community service is fun! Pennies for Patients builds character, teaches compassion and impacts your school community in a meaningful way. Click here to register your school online for our 2010 team and commit to participate anytime of your choosing in January and February 2010. Is it estimated that 1 of every 403 children in the Midwest will be diagnosed with a cancer before age 15.
Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer in children and young adults under age 20.
